Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC)

September, 2016

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Does your child have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP), 504 plan or special educational needs?  Would you like to learn more about how you can effectively advocate for and assist your child in and out of the school environment?  Want to connect with other parents who share similar concerns for their children?

Whether you are new to the special education process or have been handling it on your own for some time, we would like to invite you to join us at the East Bridgewater Special Education Parent Advisory Council or SEPAC.  The East Bridgewater SEPAC is a group of parents dedicated to working towards developing the understanding, respect, and support of all students and families of students with special needs in the East Bridgewater community.  Membership is open to all parents/guardians interested in the Special Education of East Bridgewater students.  The group works in partnership with the schools and teachers to promote an environment where children with special needs have equal access to educational opportunities and to ensure that our schools are safe, nurturing, and challenging learning environments for all children.

The EB SEPAC generally meets on the first Thursday of each month.  A list of dates and upcoming meetings and workshops can be found on the reverse side of this page as well as on the East Bridgewater Public Schools website at www.ebps.net by going to the Departments Tab and choosing Special Education from the dropdown menu.  Updates and agendas pertaining to upcoming meeting and a host of other information can also be found at our FACEBOOK page:  Sepac of East Bridgewater, MA: Special Ed Parent Advisory Council.

We look forward to meeting with you and to the possibility of sharing knowledge and support among more families within our community.

Sincerely,

The EB SEPAC
