Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC)
Dear Parents/Guardians:
Does your child have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP), 504 plan, or special educational needs? Would you like to learn more about how you can effectively advocate for and assist your child in and out of the school environment? Want to connect with other parents who share similar concerns for their children?
Whether you are new to the special education process or have been handling it on your own for some time, we would like to invite you to join us at the East Bridgewater Special Education Parent Advisory Council or SEPAC. The East Bridgewater SEPAC is a group of parents dedicated to working towards developing the understanding, respect, and support of all students and families of students with special needs in the East Bridgewater community. Membership is open to all parents/guardians interested in the Special Education of East Bridgewater students. The group works in partnership with the schools and teachers to promote an environment where children with special needs have equal access to educational opportunities and to ensure that our schools are safe, nurturing, and challenging learning environments for all children.
The EB SEPAC generally meets once per month. A list of dates and upcoming meetings and workshops can be found below and on the East Bridgewater Public Schools website at www.ebps.net by going to the Departments Tab and choosing Special Education from the dropdown menu.
We look forward to meeting with you and to the possibility of sharing knowledge and support among more families within our community.
Sincerely,
The EB SEPAC
Building Representatives: Active members for Advisory roles and committee appointments needed! Please consider becoming involved!!!!
EB SEPAC MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the East Bridgewater Special Education Parents Advisory Council (SEPAC) is to provide information to our families and community relative to all matters concerning the special education of our district’s children. We support families through parental support groups, monthly meetings, resources, and workshops. Our presence serves to educate the community about the uniqueness of children with special needs and to encourage understanding, respect, and acceptance of these children. We strive to foster open communication between the district administration and our special education families. We advocate for the learning and functional supports that children with special needs require in order for them to receive the complete education that they deserve.
